On why the vehicle was recovered in Kisumu with altered registration numbers, Ochieng says he changed it after a post announcing theft of the vehicle was widely circulated on social media.
“Since I knew the original number had been circulated, I had no option but to change it since I had to use the vehicle for my Christmas trip,” he added.
While appearing before Milimani Law court, Ochieng who was charged with stealing the vehicle and handling stolen property, denied the allegations and was released on a Sh1 Million bond or Sh300,000 cash bail.
Ms Biira reported the theft a week ago after the vehicle went missing from SG’s parking with initial investigations indicating that it had been driven from the premises by Ochieng.
After a week of probing, the luxurious car was recovered at a car wash in Kisumu having a different registration number.
