Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday attended the inauguration of Ghana’s new President, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo. Following the ceremony held at the Black Star Squares, numerous concerns have been raised on how DP Ruto was treated in the West African country compared to CORD leader Raila Odinga.
A photo showing Ruto almost peeping between other guests in order to have a glimpse of what was transpiring on the podium set the stage for online speculations indicating that the DP was humiliated and denied VIP treatment in Ghana.
At the same time, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who was captured seated at the second row of a podium that was highly guarded, was hailed for attracting better recognition. Mr Odinga is seen next to African statesmen including Kofi Annan and retired Ghanian President John Kufuor.
