Despite the alarming revelations, Soi could not explain how the money was spent. Soi claimed he used part of the money to cater for the accommodation of Sports Ministry officials and Members of Parliament.
However, in his defence, Soi said they still had part of the money in their account.
“Not all the Sh25 million has been spent. We still have another Sh8 million remaining which needs to be returned,” he said.
When the lawmakers asked Mr Soi how he was comfortable travelling with all that cash, he said:“hiyo ni pesa kidogo sana” (That’s very little money).
