A former General Service Unit officer suspected of having links with the Al Shabaab militia group and who has been dodging the police has finally been arrested.
According to police, the suspect identified as Alfan Rashid has been training Shabaab militants in Somalia.
Rashid’s arrest came after police used an officer who pretended to be a sympathiser of the Somali-based terror group seeking training before joining.
The training is said to have been conducted within two weeks.
Rashid was finally nabbed after he invited the ‘trainee’ to his house in Kwale where police raided his house and recovered hand grenades and terrorism-related literature.
